  • Sypmtoms: Fever, shivering, joint pain, vomiting, anemia, retinal damage, and convulsions.
  • Treatment: (depending on the severity) Low: Oral drugs, High: Parenteral administration of antimalarial drugs
  • Prevention include: prophylactic drugs, mosquito eradication and the prevention of mosquito bites.
  • Lifecycle: Female mosquitos of the Anopheles genus are secondary hosts and transmission vectors, A mosquito becomes infected when it takes a blood meal from an infected human, A transmission occurs referred to as anterior station transfer, then when the bite happens the mosquito injects sporozoites into the human.
