It is known for its famous Dunbar festivals that occur there that celebrate two annual Muslim celebrations, Eid-ul-Fitr and Eid-al-Adha. Emir's Palace was built in the fifteenth century. It has great durability as well as unusual building designs and is being worked on and restored every day. It is also some of the most desirable housing in Kano.
